New Music: Monrose - Hot Summer

Check out the latest video by Monrose their third single "Hot Summer". Don't they sound like Girls Aloud would sound if they were they produced by Timbaland?

New Music: Young Love

If you haven't heard of them yet let me introduce you to electropop band Young Love. The band formed in 2005 in New York City with lead singer Dan Keyes (above) who handles most of the production and songwriting in addition to providing the lead vocals. Young Love's debut full-length album, Too Young to Fight It was released on January 30, 2007 and is full of great tracks like "Discotech", "Find a New Way" and "Tragedy".

New Music: Dragonette

Meet electro/pop band Dragonette.

The band is made up of Canadian singer Martina Sorbara, her husband Dan Kurtz, Will Stapleton and Joel Stouffer.

Although no official material has been released yet they have been generating interest in the UK by doing a small venue tour. An EP was released as promo only and the songs have gained the attention of many critics such as the popular music blog Popjustice where they were named the #1 pop act to look out for in 2007.

Dragonette are recording their debut album in London for a near-future release. The band will soon be returning to England; they flew in to Toronto to shoot a music video for the song "I Get Around" at the Wicked club on Queen St. Shooting took over 16 hours, and the video has been projected for an April release.

On Thursday, February 08 2007, the video for the track "Jesus Doesn't Love Me", which was filmed in December 2006, leaked onto the internet, through the website Myspace.com and also on Popjustice.com. The video has since been removed from Myspace, as it was not intended to be viewed at this point in time.

NEW Music: Stefy

Say hello to Stefy, a band with the energy of No Doubt, and an incredibly sexy front woman, Stefy Rae, who combines the brashness of Pink and the commanding stage presence of Debbie Harry.

Rae is bold and captivating as the focal point of this electro-infused rock band. Stefy's influences range from pop to new wave to electro and punk.

Whether singing about moving on from a torrid relationship, getting over a boy who is as fake as "Orange Crush," or lamenting about a pair of teens in Orange County who lose their innocence too early, Rae's melodic voice has a subtle force, making it the only aspect of this band that isn't totally in-your-face. With Sean Meyer (guitar), Jason Gaviati (keys) and Andreas Brobjer (drums), Stefy unleashes a barrage of pop hooks and electric rock energy on their album and on stage.

Their debut single, "Chelsea", is one of the most infectious songs I've heard in a while. It doesn't hurt that they sample the Eurythmics' Sweet Dreams.

It's like green tea. It's good for you!

NEW Music: Los Abandoned

Los Abandoned is one of the most thrilling groups to come out of Los Angeles in ages.

Their music is a reflection of their Latin-American roots, an amalgamation of genres and a fusion of spices, colors and interests.

Punk. Pop. New wave. Electro. Rock. Latin house. All these adjectives could be used to describe the female-fronted Los Abandoned.

If you like Green Day, The Go Gos, No Doubt or Kinky, then you will love Los Abandoned.

NEW Music: Ultraviolet

Hailing from sunny Los Angeles, say hello to Ultraviolet.
You will be hearing a lot more from them.

Sweet sweet electro. Pure dirty disco.

This is music to dance to. This is music to thrash to. This music is the shit!!!

NEW Music: Matt White

This past year was quite the boom for male singer/songwriters!

And, 2007 promises to continue the testosterone trend.

No one guy seems more poised to take over the crown from John Mayer than Matt White, who toured with Mayer and Sheryl Crow this past summer. Jessica Simpson is even a big fan of his music, attending a few of his solo gigs and sparking talks of a possible romance.

His model looks also won't hurt White, whose album comes out in early this year.

If you like Mayer or Gavin DeGraw or Jason Mraz, Ray LaMontagne, Matt Costa, Joshua Radin or Jack Johnson, then you will love Matt White.

NEW Music: Paolo Nutini

Paolo Nutini just pushes all the right buttons!

This 19-year-old Scottish lad drives me mad. His music possesses the maturity of an ageless soul. His songs are sweet, simple and sincere. Paolo is like James Blunt's little brother!

"Last Request" reached #5 on the British singles chart, and it's one of my favorite Nutini tunes.

I'm a sucker for a sad love song! "Last Request" is precious, and you will love it. LOVE it.

NEW Music: Mika

OMG! Let me introduce you to Mika, my newest obssesion!!!

Born in Beirut, raised in Paris, and having spent his formative years in London, Mika's music is just as hot as his model looks.

Oh yeah, and rumour has it that he's gay!

Mika's grandiose popera reminds me of a lighter and brighter Rufus Wainwright or a modern-day Freddie Mercury with a splash of Scissor Sisters.

However you describe it, it's fucking fierce! And, like most truly original artists, he will probably be ignored in America and massively successful everywhere else.

Songs like "Grace Kelly", "Relax (Take It Easily)" and "Love Today" not only have catchy titles but are super hooky and will have you humming along after just one listen.

I can't rave enough about Mika.
